What is EasyBridge?
EasyBridge is a software package designed exclusively for use with the Gemini ergonomic steno keyboard by Cheetah Systems. EasyBridge lets you use the Gemini keyboard for rapid data entry into virtually any DOS-based computer program such as a word processor, spreadsheet, or data base.
EasyBridge also includes several useful utilities that make using the Gemini keyboard easy and efficient. With EasyBridge you can add, edit, and delete entries from your dictionaries, define special macros which let you perform complex functions with a single steno stroke, and more!
Who is EasyBridge Designed for?
EasyBridge was designed for court reporting students, medical trancriptionists, and anyone trained in stenographic writing. Students will find that EasyBridge lets them practice realtime without having to invest in a full-fledged CAT system. EasyBridge also gives students the opportunity to build a steno-to-English dictionary. Perhaps most importantly, EasyBridge lets you perform very rapid data entry which can be a valuable source of extra income.
How does EasyBridge Work?
EasyBridge is a program which runs in the "background" while you work with virtually any DOS-based word processor, data base, or spread sheet application. While running, EasyBridge reads the strokes you make on the Gemini, translates them against your dictionary, then feeds the translated English to the computer one character at a time as though you had typed it very quickly on the computer's standard keyboard. In this way, EasyBridge lets the Gemini actually replace your computer's keyboard.
What will I be able to do with EasyBridge?
Since the EasyBridge package is actually comprised of several useful programs and utilities, it lets you perform all of these functions:
- Practice speed-building and realtime skills using the Gemini.
